Show, don't surprise

A couple of days out, watch a short video of a kids' haircut together, or scroll through barbershop photos. Time it right

Know what to ask for. Keep the first few cuts simple: a clean, classic cut that's easy to maintain beats an elaborate style he won't sit still for.
